Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Cinema Player HD is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android video player application.

1. What We Collect

Cinema Player HD is a local media player first. We do not upload your video files, filenames, playback history, or library metadata to our servers.

The release build includes Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to improve stability. These services may collect anonymous usage events such as screen names, container format types, playback mode, feature interactions, search query length, and crash stack traces. We do not use advertising networks or sell personal data.

Telemetry does not include the content you play, vault file names, or identifiable viewing records. Local playback works fully offline without an account.

2. Local File Access Permissions

To scan and play videos stored on your device, the App requests READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (Android 13+) or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) permissions. These permissions allow the App to enumerate and open video files you choose to play.

Media file metadata (title, duration, resolution) is processed locally on your device to display your library. We do not upload file contents, filenames, or metadata to any server.

You may revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking permissions will prevent the App from accessing local media until permission is re-granted.

3. Biometric Privacy Vault Security

The Privacy Vault stores selected media inside the app's private files directory with a .nomedia marker so items no longer appear in your public library or system gallery scans.

Access is gated by Android BiometricPrompt using fingerprint, face recognition, or your device PIN/credential. Biometric templates are processed and stored exclusively by your device's secure hardware (TEE/StrongBox). Cinema Player HD never accesses, stores, transmits, or uploads biometric data.

Vault media remains on your device in app-private storage. If you uninstall the App, vault contents are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

4. Data Stored on Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device: playback resume positions, playback speed preferences, pinned media flags, custom tags, theme and language settings, and list playback preferences.

This data is stored in app-private storage and is not synchronized to cloud services. You may clear this data by clearing the App's storage in device settings or uninstalling the App.

5. Third-Party Libraries

Cinema Player HD uses open-source libraries including ExoPlayer (Google) for media playback and Firebase (Google) for anonymous analytics and crash reporting as described above.

When streaming content from external URLs (HLS, DASH), your device communicates directly with the content provider. We do not proxy or intercept streaming traffic.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not store your personal media or viewing history on our servers, most data subject requests (access, deletion, portability) are fulfilled by managing data stored locally on your device or uninstalling the App.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or California and have questions about your privacy rights, contact us at gushan83677@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

7. Children's Privacy

Cinema Player HD is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
